My Natural Scalp & Hair Oil Formulation

One of the first self-care practices I took to was hair oiling. This ancient Ayurvedic practice involves scalp massage using herbal oils to condition and strengthen your hair from root to tip.

I first experienced this treatment in Bali at Escape Haven wellness retreat, and arriving home, I sought to find a good hair oil that included rosemary which I learned was fantastic at helping your hair grow, even in areas you didn’t previously have hair or where hair was thin.

A lot of formulations I found at the time had SO many ingredients and preservatives that I decided to create my own and sourced local suppliers for a few different plant oils I came to learn were helpful for hair and scalp health... To follow is my personal formulation and the recipe I bottle into frosted glass jars to become Heelr’s Shine & Grow! As a member of the club, your email gives you automatic access to 30% off, so enjoy the discount and grab some hair oil, or make it yourself using the recipe below:

Ingredients:

2 parts Argan Oil

2 parts Kukui Nut Oil

2 parts Macadamia Nut Oil

2 parts Meadowfoam Seed Oil

1 part Tunisian Rosemary Oil

Dash of Nettle Powder

How to use:

  • As a pre-shower treatment: Pump some nourishing goodness directly onto your scalp or into your palms and comb it through from root to tip. Leave in for anywhere from 1-8 hours, or overnight, then shampoo as normal.
